WRITER. CONTENT CREATOR. EDITOR. AUTHOR.

WHO IS GILLIAN TELLING?

Oh, hello there! As stated above, I am a writer, editor, author, and ghostwriter whose work over the past two decades has appeared everywhere, from magazines like People, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, Details, and Maxim to countless entertainment websites. I’m currently a Senior Reporter and Writer at People magazine, where I’ve booked and interviewed hundreds of celebrities, from A-listers like Benedict Cumberbatch and Jennifer Lawrence to legends like Alex Trebek, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. I’ve also interviewed many famous athletes, including Alex Rodriguez, Tom Brady, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, and Alex Morgan. One of my favorite subjects is nostalgia, and revisiting artists I grew up with, like Molly Ringwald, Charlie Sheen, Pauly Shore, Andrew McCarthy, Brigitte Nielsen, and Anthony Michael Hall. I’m also an author! In 2010, I published the book Dirty Girls: The Naked Truth About Our Guilty Secrets (Unpretty, Unclean, and Utterly Horrifying), based on what I learned during my time as a sex columnist at Maxim. It has been described as “hilarious and true,” “laugh-out-loud funny,” and “terrifying.” It was also released in Germany, where the title was directly translated to Men Are Gross. Women Are Too, which is pretty spot-on. I’m not just an entertainment writer, though — I’ve covered all sorts of topics, from travel and food to human interest and crime, and have also done copywriting for ad agencies, script supervision for commercials, and written several pilots and screenplays. I’m also a connected celebrity booker and an experienced on-air personality. I currently live in Brooklyn with my two sons and my husband, Josh Dean, who is a podcast creator and host. Below, please enjoy me creeping on some of my favorite interview subjects of all time, and please click through my work to see a mere sampling of what I’ve done! Thanks for stopping by.
